Common Sense Is Not Common Which Is Holding Us Back From Problem-Solving

"People all over the nation are starved for honesty and common sense." Ben Carson

Dr. Carson nailed it in his quote in the sub headline, just above this opening paragraph. Our nation is indeed lacking honesty and that void means common sense is not common. In this page we're going to hit this subject head on which in this new era that discourages discussion could cost us some readers.

I'd ask right here to please read the entire page before clicking out of it and please consider the ideas. You might not agree. That's fine. Maybe you have some better ideas. That's the reason behind honest discussion. We've seen a growing movement that silences any notion of disagreement to this woke trend that seeks to disavow any acceptance of personal accountability.

In our editorial room there was plenty of debate on when to post this page, what to include and how strong to be when we did post it. We promised to be truthful from the beginning and sharing truth is not always comfortable. Being uncomfortable is a big reason common sense is not common.

Free Thinking Is Not Allowed

Our history is filled with the fresh ideas of free thinkers who wondered what if? What if we tried this? What if we recognized the value of every innocent human? What if we just sat down as equal citizens and worked out solutions?

Now we are living in an era of absolute arrogance. To bolster that arrogance, any attempts at honesty are being discarded, because what the elites want is for all of us to think like them and be like them. Common sense would tell us these bastions of arrogance who bemoan the stupidity of those "deplorables" should not be permitted to scare us away from free thinking. But common sense is not common.

Justine Bateman offers a good take on this important subject. She offers some common sense in a world that is rejecting common sense because it also rejects personal accountability.

She states, "I have found the last four years to be an almost intolerable period. A very un-American period in that any questioning, any opinions, any likes or dislikes were held up to a very limited list of "permitted positions" in order to assess acceptability,"...and she continues, "Permitted position’ behavior and speech was ‘allowed.’ Complete intolerance became almost a religion and one’s professional and social life was threatened almost constantly. Those that spoke otherwise were ruined as a warning to others."

Regarding those free thinkers she says, "When you starve a society of those called to be independent thinkers and cultural and intellectual innovators, you rob that society of any forward movement," she continued. "Those that tried to impose that control maintained a kind of ‘hall monitor’ position by threatening others with damning labels like ‘Sexist,’ ‘racist,’ "homophobic,' etc, when the free-thinking and questioning was nothing of the sort."

And finally the crux of the problem. She writes, "I am neither one extreme or the other, but am one of the millions of people who believe in common sense, and that everyone should be free to live their lives however they want, unless that freedom interferes with someone else’s freedom to live their own life. That’s it,"

The woke movement wants it all their way even when it interferes with someone else's freedom. We've written in previous pages that my right to swing a closed fist ends just before it hits another person's jaw. We approach this subject in the last section.

The Super-Rich Experiment

We don't envy any person who accumulates massive fortunes if they did so honestly. If they earned it fairly, congratulations to them. But this personal experiment that is going on with mega-rich financing this movement of misplaced accountability is wrong because these mega-rich are insulated from the consequences of their experiment.

They don't live in the communities ravaged by crime that they helped promote by funding elections that placed soft on crime politicians and prosecutors in place to turn the criminals back out with no penalty.

They are protected from the end result of buying politicians who bend to the direction of the wind and the mob mentality that allows destruction of personal property and public buildings. That goes for both sides of this problem. That goes for the assault on the Capital and for the riots in city streets.

Maybe we as a united citizenship are finally rejecting the failed experiment of abdicating any personal responsibility. Maybe. Maybe common sense will return as will calm discussion based on honesty.

Very liberal, but also direct in honesty, comedian Bill Maher states it clearly. “This election was very much about what I’ve been saying here — and lost a lot of fans for saying over the years — that this country has had enough of the anti-common sense woke bulls–t,”

Common Sense Is Not Common Unless Truth Is Included

Lets touch on some hot button issues. As Bill Maher stated, he lost some fans with honesty. We don't want to turn off any readers but we promised from day one to be honest.

Everyone wants professional, poised police officers. We don't want rogue cops. But the woke movement that cried out to defund the police did what common sense would predict. It gave criminals a free pass to commit crimes. The "aw shucks, I'm just a former farmer" governor who was the poster child for defund the police saw his cities hammered by crime. No one asked the people who actually live in those cities what they wanted. They want the cops back.

All of the editors on our website love sports. We have daughters who played sports. Sports are great teaching tools. There is a reason rules are in place to make sports fair. It's just common sense. 200 pound wrestlers don't compete against 100 pound wrestlers. That wouldn't be fair.

Personally, none of us care if someone over the age of 18 decides they want to change their gender. That is their right as an adult. But it isn't fair for someone who is much bigger physically because they were born male and developed muscle strength of a male to compete against women. That's common sense.

As for gender identity, those politicians who speak of parental rights and protecting the family unit have no problem changing their tune to allow the entities that profit from gender change to cut parents out of that decision. We have adult rules and adolescent rules for a reason. It's common sense.

As we wrote in the last paragraph, when someone is a legal adult, they can decide. But parental rights can't be removed to suit a woke agenda.

Lets talk about the hottest of hot buttons. No one-repeat, no one in the true pro-life movement thinks the life of the mother should not be considered in medical situations. The elitists know this is true, but they aren't bound by honesty. They are enticed by cash, however. Cash is king.

Miscarriage is not an abortion. Yes, the very clinical term calls it a spontaneous abortion, but common sense tells us this is not the debate. No one in the true pro life movement would ever deny medical care for a miscarriage. It's already established that no one in the true pro life movement is opposed to saving the life of the mother.

Ectopic pregnancy is not in the realm of abortion. No one in the true pro life movement would be opposed to protecting the life of the mother in this situation as in any other medical situation. That's just common sense. But common sense is not common.

We listened to endless commercials suggesting "those extremists" would let a women bleed out because of a miscarriage. They know it's a lie, but this new era doesn't deal in honest discussion. They use this tactic to divert attention from the truth. They need to remove the human factor.

The people in the pro life movement, not the politicians who don't want a solution because they like the cash flow from the endless debate, but the common sense people of America don't hate women. Half the humans killed by abortion are women. They just believe innocent humans should be protected from violence. They believe women should be supported during pregnancy and afterward. They believe in paid leave, they believe in pre and post natal care for all. They believe killing the human because it isn't convenient is wrong. Just as nearly anyone would if the child was a year old. That's just common sense.

We wrote in our page about morality and ethics that there is always a baseline truth in every issue. If we establish this baseline and move forward with a committed effort to solve problems, we can solve them. But that requires common sense. It requires listening to both sides to reach common ground.

Maybe we're turning a corner. Maybe enough people are rejecting the experiment of billionaires to unleash criminals into our society to force us to be "taken care of" by the elitists. Maybe parents will be allowed to parent their own children without being forced into a woke agenda.

We have the power to solve big problems. We must begin with baseline truths and then listen to honest dialogue. We don't need to be part of the billionaire experiment that has been exposed for the fraud it always was from the start.

We all have certain rights, but those rights end when they hurt another person. For years some claimed it was their "right" to own humans as property. Everyone knew deep down this was wrong, but some were scared to speak up and some were paid to go along with it. No one has the right to kill an innocent human. Not then, not now.

So there you have it. Truth, even when it isn't comfortable or convenient to an agenda. Hopefully we don't lose anyone. Hopefully we've encouraged honest, sincere discussion that seeks to solve problems, not continue this worthless debate.

Thanks for staying with us to the end of this page. We hope you are part of the solutions. Together we can solve our challenges. We just need some sincere dialogue and some common sense.
